Wow! It has been months and months since I have written in my blog! I was thinking about this awesome website I had built… And I’m not even blogging on it! That’s crazy! Well that’s going to change because I love to share what I do and instead of just sharing those things briefly on facebook and twitter I can write about them here in more depth with pictures and videos like I planned on doing last year! So what’s new with me? I live in Mississippi now! There’s no way I could get any further from Seattle than Mississippi right?! And I’m a total city girl, always have been. I’m use to getting around in a big busy city, lots of noise, people, places etc. But here is total opposite of that. However, I love the sun shining everyday and the warm weather, that means so much to me. I also love the people here, family and strangers, they are so sweet and welcoming. And there’s also some really great food here! So really this move has been quite a change for me in a lot of different ways. I still model, travel and work on other projects but mostly trying to adjust to everyday life in the south! I’m still able to do a lot of the same things as before, I have my own at home gym here that’s my favorite place in the world and I have a big beautiful kitchen I get to cook all the time in. But my new favorite thing right now is my garden.. Well almost garden. My boyfriends mom is the ultimate gardener, you just would not believe her backyard! She has a 15 foot custom iorn Eiffel tower, multiple fountains and patios galore surrounded by thousands of plants and flowers in her backyard. It’s so beautiful and serene. So anyway, she so kindly helped me with some great tropical plants and flowers that are easily maintainable for me since I travel so much. But my favorite part is my organic herbs we planted! They are awesome! I am so into growing your own foods and herbs, that is the best nutrition! We have Thyme, Basil, Cilantro and massive Rosemary plants, as you can see, that smell amazing! I go out there every few days, more often recently (this is the south, we’ve got some serious heat down here) and spend some time out side watering my plants, feeding the birds and maintaining my backyard. I love being able to go outside, clip some fresh organic rosemary and use it right then and there on my dinner! I look forward to starting on some vegetables now too. So far adjusting down here has worked out after all… 😉
23 November 2010
Hi everyone! I just got back from an amazing weekend in Los Angeles, CA. We attended the annual ‘Rock the Kasbah’ 2010 event. We walked the red carpet at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in downtown LA. All funds are donated for The Eve Branson Foundation and Virgin Unite, both great causes. Virgin Unite supports young people in the United States to give them opportunities for a bigger and better future with more educational and job opportunities as well as providing life skills to them. The Eve Branson Foundation helps in similar ways, but for women and young girls in Morocco. The overall goal is for them all to be economically self-sufficient and to create incomes to support themselves. What I loved hearing the most is 100% of their proceeds are donated directly to the cause because all of Virgin Unites overhead are covered by Sir Richard Branson and the Virgin Group. Their work is absolutely amazing and I am so glad I was able to be a part of such a special night. I watched awesome performances by Colbie Calait, Common and Robin Thick. I also briefly met Justin Long, CEO of Virgin Unite Jean Oelwang, Eve Branson, and Sir Richard Branson himself.
I am really looking forward to the charity program I do every year with my family. We team up with Childhaven of United Way to help abused and neglected children and give them a better Christmas! It is a really great way to give back. I will keep you all posted! Happy Holidays!
